Under the File Manager section you will see a prompt to “Review Issues” in detail if a pre-tax file has warnings or errors. This feature is not yet available for employer-sponsored demographics files.
Click the link to access a page with individual tabs for errors and warnings. Issues with the same code will be grouped together. Click the + sign to expand and view more details.
Each issue type will include instructions on how to resolve it. For elections and contributions files, the account type, employee ID, and employee work email will be displayed in addition to the issue details.
The file review will only show the fields being validated, not all original data for a record. If more than 10 rows have the same issue code, the review will not be available on the File Manager page. In such cases, download the issues file to view all affected rows.
Please note that preview functionality is not available for files submitted or processed before April 30, 2023.
Issues file
An issue file details rows with errors or warnings, including the issue code, message, and additional information. This file is attached to the email notifications sent when a file is processed. Download the issue file by clicking “Download File.”
In the Code column, the format consists of two letters and three digits:
- PT for demographics
- EN for elections
- CT for contributions
For errors, the digits start with 0 (e.g., PT001, EN013, CT020). For warnings, the digits start with 1 or 2 (e.g., PT101, EN107, CT104).
The Needs Attention column explains the meaning of the code, while the More Info column provides further details and suggests the next steps.

Next Steps
If errors or warnings require a new file to correct the records, upload the updated production file from the File Manager page. The file will be processed within an hour; check the File Manager again to ensure it has been processed without further issues.
On the Review Issues page, mark the file as "Reviewed" to indicate that it has been reviewed and corrected. You can also add a note for record-keeping. To undo the reviewed status, select "Remove Review Status."
