Error Code: EN049
Error Message: A terminated account cannot have a Start Date in the future
This error typically occurs when an employee drops enrollment or is terminated before the account is effective. Similar to error EN046, an account with a Terminated status indicates an account will no longer be active. For example,
- Today is 2026-05-01.
- The row indicates the Account Status is Terminated. If an account end date is not provided, the system will use 2026-05-01 as the account end date.
- The account start date is listed as 2026-06-01. The record will error out because the date is after 2026-05-01, the default account end date.
- This rule is applicable to all account types.
It is not necessary to create the account with a terminated status. Simply remove the record from the file.
