Ineligible FSA or LPFSA enrollment
Error Code: EN017
Error: Employee cannot enroll in both FSA or LPFSA at the same time
Employees can only be enrolled in either FSA or LPFSA in the same plan year. An employee can have a 2025 FSA and 2026 LPFSA, but cannot have a 2026 FSA and 2026 LPFSA unless there is a QLE involved and the employee changes their enrollment. In this case, one account must be terminated first before they enroll in the other account.
If an FSA and LPFSA account type is sent for the same employee on the election file, the election record listed first will be processed, and the second row will be errored out. For example, John Doe has two account records in the elections file, row one is an active 2025 FSA and row two is an active 2026 LPFSA. Forma will create the FSA account for John and error out the LPFSA election as it is considered ineligible.
